Deck restoration is important in maintaining the look and quality of your outdoor deck. Cleaning, resurfacing and repairing damage will help your deck look great all year round! Some of the maintenance may include pressure washing, carpentry, cover preparation, coating and cleaning.
We know there are a lot of deck restoration companies out there. They all will probably claim how great they are, how inexpensive, and how high quality they are. Most will give you the lowest price option which may sound like it’s the right option… but that may not always be true. Deck restoration is an art of in itself. One thing to keep in mind is the quality of what you’re getting done to your deck. Are they using chemicals to power wash, what type of products are they using to restore the wood, etc.
Deck Armor uses the highest quality chemicals to power wash your deck to allow it to maintain its’ original integrity. This also helps keep the wood at an optimal quality for a longer period of time. With other companies you may have to get your deck cleaned or restored every few years. By choosing Deck Amor it may cost more money in the short term, but the long term results are way better and will pay off. You will invest more money in the beginning but it will save you maintenance in the future.
During the pressure washing process we use a combination of two chemicals, allowing us to use a much safer and more effective cleaning solution. Our advanced chemicals kill and remove algae as well as keeps protecting the wood long after that. Depending on the shape of your deck we will re-secure the entire deck including rails, repair the damaged boards, and re-nail loose nails.
Before coating application we will cover completely the siding of the house where the deck is, around all of the patios, bushes or plants that are near by the deck. Once everything is completed to the standard that you’d like then we can apply coating. This can be applied using either a brush, roller or you can spray it on. The temperature and moisture of the wood also play a role in determining when it is ready to having coating applied. It must be between the temperatures of 50-95 degrees and a moisture level of less than 18%. This will give the wood the best chance at looking great when all is said and done.
The last step of the process is to inspect the wood for all the touch ups and make sure that everything is cleaned! At Deck Armor our goal is to ensure that each and every customer is happy with the finished product. If there are any questions or concerns we are here to answer them.
